About Joy, Founder
A Friend to the Friendless

Married at the young age of 17 to a violent husband, Joy found herself in a difficult situation.
After 7 1/2 years in the abusive marriage, Joy had all she could take. She took her 4 1/2 year old
son and left. They were all alone. In an attempt to run away from her problems, she ended up
moving from town to town; slowly slipping into a downward spiral of depression, drugs, alcohol,
and DWIs. She finally ended up in prison.

Prison time was a blessing in disguise as it allowed Joy to reflect on the choices she had
made in her life. In desperation, she threw herself on her knees and prayed to God to help her
find her way out. She knew in her heart that she had to make some hard changes to honor the
commitment she made to God.

With Love from Jesus Ministries started on her back porch...a Call from God. Always having a
heart to help the homeless (and having been homeless herself), the ministry quickly grew by
word of mouth and has continued to expand. Currently, there are 7 branches of With Love from
Jesus.

Most people are referred to With Love from Jesus from area social services, churches,
hospitals, and other agencies. It is a safe place for struggling people to go without fear of being
judged or feeling ashamed. They find themselves enveloped with the Holy Spirit as they get
their needs filled completely free of charge. The ministry has been blessed with generous
donors and volunteers who have been the hands and feet of Jesus to these clients.

The number of people seeking assistance continues to grow with the downturn of the
economy. We need your help! Together, we can help our friends and neighbors through the
circumstances of life. Please volunteer or make a donation today!
